Kindle for Windows 10 is an eReader software program from Amazon. The program allows users to read books in the proprietary Kindle format on their Windows 10 Computers.

Kindle is perhaps the most popular eReader on the market right now, and Amazon's partial lock on the eBook industry makes the device's software incredibly popular. While there's certainly something to be said for all of the other eBook formats out there, it's always good to have the software that can run the most popular format. If you've got books on your Amazon account, you'll need to use Kindle for Windows 10 - especially if you don't already have the handheld eReader at home.

The Kindle software is useful, if uninspired. The software is easy enough for anyone to use, and you can access any of your books from the cloud. It's not particularly tough for you to find a book, and the basic features will serve most users well. The software also features the bookmarking, search, and highlighting features that one would find on the handheld device, giving users a fairly intuitive method of interacting with their books while they are on the screen.

On the downside, the Kindle software is a bit too basic. There's more that could be done by uncoupling the software from the eReader, but Amazon has chosen to do what's more or less a straight port. It's still hard to read on a computer screen for a lengthy period of time, something the software doesn't help.

Kindle isn't software you want, it's software you need. If you have eBooks in the Kindle format, it's a must-download. It's unfortunate, then, that it does little more than what it absolutely has to do to work.
